Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Stonington Illinois.
Building Our Lives
Hello, thank you for visiting our website and I hope you will also visit this beautiful fellowship. The people that attend this church are kind, loving, and forgiven. Since coming to the Stonington First Baptist Church in June 2007, I have been overwhelmed with the loving attitude of this fellowship. These Christians love one another.
Life is Hard
All of us are doing the best we can with what we have. Sometimes God prunes the vine to help us grow and bear the fruit of the spirit (John 15:2). The Apostle Paul wrote "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22).
All of us have known heartbreak, disappointment, suffering, and sin. However, Jesus tells us "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon the house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock." (Matthew 7:24,25)
Life is hard, but First Baptist Church and the lives of our members are building on the rock of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Allow me, on behalf of the Christians of this fellowship, to invite you to also build your life on the strong foundation of Christian belief, practice, and truth.
We are helping one another with words of encouragement, prayer, and shared fellowship (Hebrews 10:24,25). If you are interested in a loving Christian family that teaches faith and forgiveness, please join with us in our service for God.
